FAQs
What is Nanoplasty?
Nanoplasty is a cutting-edge hair straightening treatment that harnesses the power of nanotechnology to repair, rejuvenate, and straighten the hair. Using ultra-fine nanoparticles of proteins, amino acids, and vitamins, this treatment penetrates deep into the hair shaft to deliver long-lasting straightness, enhanced shine, and improved hair health.
Unlike traditional methods, Nanoplasty is 100% formaldehyde-free and contains no harsh or toxic chemicals, making it a safer, more natural alternative for achieving sleek, manageable hair.
What is the difference between Nanoplasty vs Keratin?
Both Nanoplasty and keratin treatments are protein-based solutions designed to smooth hair and reduce frizz—but they work in very different ways.
Keratin treatments primarily soften curls and control frizz, offering temporary smoothing by coating the hair cuticle with large protein molecules. These treatments often contain chemical ingredients, some with formaldehyde or other harsh compounds and typically require a few days of downtime (no washing, styling, or tying the hair).
Nanoplasty, on the other hand, can smooth, straighten and eliminate frizz on all hair types and textures. Nanoplasty uses nano-sized molecules made from natural, plant-based ingredients such as proteins, amino acids, and vitamins. These molecules penetrate deep into the hair cortex to repair and straighten the hair from within, without any toxic or harsh chemicals.
Nanoplasty results last longer (up to 6 months) and there’s no downtime. You can wash, tie, or style your hair immediately after treatment. Both treatments add shine and improve manageability, but Nanoplasty delivers straighter, healthier, and longer-lasting results.
What professional tools do I need to start doing Nanoplasty Treatments?
To achieve the best results with Nanoplasty, we recommend the following professional tools:
A high-quality Titanium iron that reaches up to 230°C (450°F) is essential. Titanium plates ensure consistent heat distribution and smooth gliding through the hair.
We recommend the Lizze Extreme Irons, made in Brazil—trusted by professionals and regarded as one of the best tools on the market for Nanoplasty and keratin treatments.
To maintain proper tension while ironing, use a clamp brush or heat-resistant gloves. This ensures smoother, more even straightening and enhances treatment absorption.
All recommended tools are available to purchase through your Biopulent trade account.
Will Nanoplasty straighten or smooth all hair types?
Yes, Nanoplasty is effective on all hair types, including curly, wavy, and frizzy hair, providing smooth, silky and manageable results.
What if my client doesn't want very straight hair? Can Nanoplasty results be customised?
Yes. Nanoplasty results can be tailored to your client’s desired look, from reducing frizz and softening curls to creating a smooth, straight finish — by adjusting the ironing technique. Detailed guidance on techniques is provided in our training manual.
Is the Nanoplasty treatment safe on Coloured, Bleached and Chemically treated hair?
Yes, Nanoplasty is safe for use on coloured, bleached and chemically treated hair.
Does the Nanoplasty change the hair colour?
Biopulent Nanoplasty treatment includes purple pigments to help prevent brassy tones in blonde hair, keeping the result cooler and more balanced.
For darker hair, the treatment may slightly shift the colour. Because it penetrates deep into the hair shaft, it can bring out the natural undertones, sometimes making the hair appear two to three shades lighter. This is a normal effect and depends on your clients hair colour history, undertone and condition.
It’s a good idea to mention this during the consultation, especially for clients with colour-treated or porous hair.
Can I colour my client's hair before or after the treatment?
You can colour your clients hair on the same day as a Nanoplasty treatment however for best results we recommend waiting 5 to 7 days in between each service. It is also recommended to do the Nanoplasty treatment first as the treatment lightens the hair colour by 2- 3 shades. A colour treatment prior to a Nanoplasty can result in a lighter colour than intended.
Can I bleach my client’s hair before or after the treatment?
For best results, we recommend waiting 2 - 3 weeks (depending on your client's hair condition) in between a Nanoplasty and a bleach service. It is recommended to use a hydrating mask between each service for Opulent results.
The Biopulent SOS Hydrating Mask is formulated with the perfect blend of ingredients to hydrate and nourish the hair.
Can my client have a Nanoplasty if they’ve had Henna?
Yes, Nanoplasty can be performed on hair previously treated with Henna. However, for best results, it’s important to wait at least one month after the last Henna application before proceeding with the treatment.
This allows the Henna to fully settle and reduces the risk of uneven results or interference with the treatment’s absorption.
Can my client have a Nanoplasty if they've had Chemical straightening or a Perm?
Yes, Nanoplasty can be safely performed on hair that has previously undergone chemical straightening or a perm, as long as it has been at least one month since the chemical straightening or perm service.
This waiting period helps ensure the hair has had time to recover from the chemical service, ensuring optimal results.
How soon can my client wash their hair post-treatment?
Clients can wash their hair immediately after the Nanoplasty treatment.
Can you swim after a Nanoplasty?
Yes, clients can swim immediately after a Nanoplasty treatment, there’s no downtime and water won’t affect the straightening results.
However, it’s important to note that chlorine and salt water, while not reversing the treatment, can impact the condition and appearance of the hair over time, just as they would with natural hair. To maintain the best results, we recommend using protective products and rinsing the hair thoroughly after swimming.
Does Nanoplasty damage the hair?
No, Nanoplasty is designed to repair and rejuvenate hair, making it healthier and stronger.
What if my client has damaged hair?
Nanoplasty is ideal for damaged hair, as it helps repair the hair’s internal structure and restore strength and vitality. However, since the treatment involves sealing with high heat, the hair must be healthy enough to tolerate the use of hot irons.
For severely damaged or overprocessed hair, we recommend using the Biopulent SOS Hydrating Mask over a few weeks prior to treatment. This deeply hydrates and preps the hair, ensuring the best possible results from Nanoplasty.
How long do the results of a Nanoplasty treatment last?
The results of a Nanoplasty treatment can last 5-6 months with proper care and maintenance. After two or more repeat treatments, results on the treated hair last up to 8 to 12 months
How can my client prolong the result of a Nanoplasty treatment?
Clients should use a salon quality sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to promote long-lasting results.
How long does the Nanoplasty treatment take to do in a salon?
Nanoplasty treatment typically takes 3 to 5 hours, depending on the length, thickness, and condition of the hair.
Is Nanoplasty safe during pregnancy?
While Nanoplasty is generally considered safe, it’s recommended that pregnant clients consult with their healthcare professional before undergoing the treatment. This ensures peace of mind and allows for any individual considerations to be addressed.
Is Nanoplasty safe for children?
Nanoplasty is safe for children thanks to its natural, plant-based ingredients. However, it’s important to obtain parental consent before performing the treatment.
One thing to consider is the duration of the service, which can take several hours, so it’s essential to assess whether the child is comfortable sitting for an extended period of time.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for a Nanoplasty treatment?
Yes, while Nanoplasty can penetrate through some product buildup, we recommend thoroughly cleansing the hair with the Biopulent Gentle Pre-Cleansing Shampoo before starting the treatment. This ensures the hair is clean and free from any heavy residue, allowing the treatment to work more effectively.
This step is essential not only for optimal results but also enhances the overall experience by providing your client with a complete, professional salon service from start to finish.
What should I charge my clients for a Nanoplasty treatment?
Refer to the Biopulent Training Manual for recommended service pricing guidelines. However, it's important to set your prices based on your salon’s overheads, location, and experience.
Nanoplasty is a lengthy service, and your pricing should reflect the time, skill, and product invested in each treatment. Be sure to factor in the unique needs of each client and the resources required to deliver high-quality results.
